This is One Grateful Traffic Whore

I want to take a minute to thank all of you who have visited this blog and took time from your busy lives to read my posts. I know it’s hard to make time to do that with the way most of us have things going on. I’m very, very grateful.

After I posted my last “traffic whore” post, my views went through the roof. I can’t thank you all enough, whether someone else asked you to come or whether you found me through other means. If you were sent here by some anonymous (to me, anyway) director of traffic, please thank them for me. If you found you like what you see, I’m even more happy. If you came on your own, and you enjoyed reading what you found, I’m so glad for that. It makes me happy to know I could help you pass time in enjoyment.

I’d like to especially thank Raga6 for her timely comments, letting me know that the Ghost Hunters story was a way to escape the workaday life and have a good time. I’m so glad you came, Raga, and I’m even more glad you commented. Thank you for being a faithful reader. If you have a blog, provide me with a link to it, Raga — I’ll be happy to plug it for you.

Thank you, Bryce, for all your kind words and encouragement during the process. I’m really, really glad the ‘Net brought us together. I look forward every week to your new installments, and now that you’ve got a publishing cred, I guess you’re not a wannabe anymore. I really hope it goes well for you, brother. Thanks, too, for all you did to help with the review of Text Tree. It’s a great piece of software and the one I’ll be using to outline the next book I write.

Thanks also to Sherri. You don’t know how much it means to me to have a represented writer willing to read through my book and provide constructive criticism on how to improve it. I don’t think you know how much you’ve meant to me as a person, either; and I know I’m not alone in that. We love you.

Thanks to Dwight Wannabe for publishing as much as he has on his own blog to help other wannabes move ahead and take steps toward not being wannabes anymore. I’ve found a lot in there of value, bud, and I’m grateful that you do it.

But most of all, I want to thank my loving, kind, sweet, beautiful wife. She wanted the story to continue from its very inception, even when I didn’t plan on continuing it. She asked me to keep writing it, to keep it going, and she provided the additional challenge of constantly trying to figure out where it was going. She’s an avid reader and a great critical thinker, and it was all I could do not to make it too easy for her to figure out. We do that with movies all the time — we don’t do suspension of disbelief very well. But, she managed for me. Thanks, my love. I can never express in words how grateful I am for you being there the whole time, through the whole thing.

And to all of you that read in anonymity, who “lurked” but came to see if the next installment was written, who came for the software reviews or just to see what I’d written if anything — thank you all too. I’m glad you stopped by, however briefly, and would like you all to know you’re welcome here anytime. All the time, actually.

Thanks, everyone. Thank you all. It’s been so cool to watch that hit count climb.

Oh, and if any of you are editors or agents — feel free to drop me a line. I’d love to move up from the ranks of wannabe. πŸ™‚

God bless, all.

  1. Hi DarcNess – I surfed on over here from Sherri’s blog and I just wanted to say it’s nice to meet another writer here in the ol’ blogosphere. I’ll come back again…

  2. Hi, Ian, and welcome.

Thank you for stopping by … I always enjoy meeting writers! Please do stop by again, you’re always welcome. I’m glad you came on over, and hope you find something that strikes your fancy.

Just FYI, the blog title is “DarcNess”, but I — I am the DarcKnyt. πŸ˜‰

    Thanks for saying “hi” too!

  3. Oh, wonderful Sherri. I can’t tell you how much you’ve come to mean to us in so short a time. You’re one of the most precious and wonderful people we’ve ever met, anywhere, at any time.

We are so glad we have come together, regardless of the forces — or lack thereof — that managed it. We’re just grateful for you.

  4. Hi! I feel kinda famous being thanked and all. :o)

I’m just as happy as you are that I stumbled onto your story. I love the characters, but Dillon in particular. I gotta tell you I would definitely not mind reading another story with the same people in them. Especially Dillon, I think I have a weird crush on him. Strange. Anyway, I’m going to go check out your other writings now. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next!

  5. Hi, Raga! Hey, anything I can do to help folks with their fame and fortune … πŸ™‚

I’m really glad you came back. Of all the characters in the book, I think Dillon is the one that gets the most accolades. But a full-blown crush? He’d be so flattered. And he’d probably hit on you too.

I hope you enjoy reading my other stuff, and feel free to comment on it either here or on the Wiki sites. Hopefully I haven’t driven you from this site by sending you to that one, though!

Please know how much your support has meant to me, and how much I appreciate your kindness and your comments.

    Come back soon!

Hey, what's up? Tell me whatcha think!
