Another day, Another Theme

Well … after all the positive feedback from Sherri, and encouragement from the Love of My Life and Penfury, I took it upon myself to change my theme.

I needed the space for goodies on my sidebars. Now, I’m not a big fan of teeny-tiny little fonts, and this one definitely has those in the sidebars. But I do like the 4-column layout, which allows me to bring a lot of the sidebar stuff up from the nether-regions of the blog. So, this is an okay compromise. Not perfect, but it’ll do … for tonight. I’ll have to see how I feel about it long-term.

This is the only 4-column theme with even close to enough space for the posts in terms of width. However, it is more narrow, and I’m not sure how I feel about that right now. And I’ll miss my beloved Century font for the entries themselves. But, we’ll try this. If it doesn’t work out I can always move to the Digg theme Sherri’s using; she gave me her blessing. πŸ™‚ (Thanks, Sherri.)

Thanks everyone, and please let me know what you think. If this thing’s too hard on your eyes, or is too small, or whatever, I want to know about it. I’ll dump it in a heartbeat if need be; I ain’t married to it. πŸ™‚

God bless, all.

  1. It’s quite a change, that’s for sure, but I like it a lot. It’s more “DarcKnyt.” And I really like how you modified the header. The font…that’s not a big deal. Most people know about the ctrl+ command, I just did it and it helps a lot. No law says you can’t change it if you don’t like it, but it’s cool. πŸ™‚

  2. Hey, Sherri, thanks for saying whatcha think, hon! Your opinion is always valuable to me, and I really appreciate your — uh, appreciation of the new look. I agree — and that’s why I chose this template — that of the multi-column themes available, this one was the most “DarcKnyt”. πŸ˜‰

I can make the font larger (which isn’t a problem for the entries, just the other crapola) and most folks do know the trick to make it bigger themselves. But if it’s a PITA for people, I’ll find another one.

Thanks for the compliment about the custom header, too. I actually made a brand new one for this theme, since the dimensions were different than for any others I’d used. πŸ™‚

I’m so glad you came by, hon, and we love you!

  3. Me likey likey! Very nice. Dark and mysterious too! When I opened youor webpage I was like “Woah!” It looks awesome. Very cool. I can’t find the right words. Shit. Well I love it and I guess that’s the best way to say it!

I feel like I haven’t talked to you in forever. We should get together soon. Love you guys!

  4. Raga – Thanks, hon! I’m glad you like it. I thought LOML hit it on the head when she told me it was the most “DarcKnyt” of all the themes that met my requirements. If you love it, that’s all the wording that’s needed! πŸ™‚

We love you too, sweetie. I know I’ve been out of communication for a while, but I’m actually trying to get ready to prepare to be almost set to do some work on Witch Hunt — and you know how that goes for me. πŸ˜‰

  5. I think it looks great Love! So … DarcKnyt-ish. πŸ™‚

Like Sherri said (Hi Sherri!) I just use the ctrl+ thing to make it a tad bigger, but that’s not an issue. I don’t know if you can change fonts in WLW – might be fun to play with.

It looks good! Just like you. πŸ™‚

Hey, what's up? Tell me whatcha think!
