I had every intention of doing some writing today. I really did. I had every motivation, because I just finished a couple of installments of Witch Hunt, the second of which will be posted on Monday. I was going to edit a few chapters a day over the weekend in Ghost Hunters, too, and maybe have that draft cleaned up and ready for beta reading in a couple of weeks.
Reality is very different than my fantasies, however.
While the day’s not over, all I want to do is sleep right now. I could easily lay down, snuggle up and drift off for a couple of hours. I may still do that. I slept in this morning — meaning I didn’t set my alarm last night, naturally — but feel like I still need a couple of hours to feel refreshed. The truth is, those couple of hours will probably make me even more lethargic, because the human body doesn’t really get enough of a good thing. But LORD in Heaven — it’s tempting.
One little nap can’t hurt, can it? Really?
I’d still have all night (if I so chose) to write. Of course, I don’t want to do that. I need to be well-rested for my five-mile, 60-hour week next week, and throwing my body’s natural rhythms off that far would be … well, that’d be stupid. I also have to start my skill-building stuff next week, even though I haven’t really decided what I want to do with my life (besides writing) if I grow up. I guess I’ll have to decide pretty soon, though.
Well, that’s all. I thought I’d have another two installments of WH done by next week, but it doesn’t look good right now. Thought I’d have four or more chapters of GH edited, too. Not lookin’ good for that either.
So what’re y’all doing this weekend? Writing? Playing? Sleeping?
God bless, everyone. If I have a sudden spasm of creative energy capable of overcoming my deep desire for lethargy and sloth, I’ll be sure to update you all on it. Have a happy weekend.
